Politics Rears It's Head

posted Tuesday, 9 June 2009
It's been a while...as it often is. Then there is a mad spurt of posts. So this is by way of a gentle introduction back into my world here.
This morning I got up to hear that the spineless members of Labour Cabinet along with the back benchers have publically decided to back Gordon Brown as he has promised to make changes in the way he runs his Government and Cabinet.
Well let's get one thing straight here shall we?
MR Brown doesn't have a Government...we do. This is OUR Government. They work for us not the other way around.
And frankly if they worked for me, you'd have been sacked for fraud and deception a week ago. Along with all the other "honourable members" sitting in that grand old building they'd have been shown the door.
How can the man say as the leader he will change?
Shouldn't he have been elected on the basis of what he can do?

Oh wait...I forget, he wasn't elected. This mean spirited, grumpy old man was foisted on us. So we live in a democracy? I think not.

Then the day got worse.

We find out that not only are the LDV workers going to be out of work but at least another 4000 that are linked to the industry will likely go due to the knock on effect and there is Lord Voldemort...sorry...Peter Mandelson saying that as business secretary he will work tirelessly to save British jobs.
Well get up off your cushty arse and do it then. That's what you're being paid for. Another unelected minister who rolled in from the EU and IT'S unsupervised gravy train.

Lloyds announce that ALL C&G branches will be closed but have not openly announced that they are reducing their contact centres from 92 to 61 nor that the CarSelect loan dept in Cardiff is closing and moving to Birmingham - one can only assume that Rhodri and co in the Assembly are tightening their collective belts and not handing out grants to keep work in Wales now - and that the loan teams will be reduced and moved to London.
I shocked that this all but bankrupt company are actually still lending money seeing as they have none - oh wait...they have some of MY money that Gordon and Co lent to the banks for not managing their finances correctly so that will have to be used to pay out on redundancy AND moving costs. So while jobs may move to other parts of the country we can bet that it will mean MORE work for the already overworked and understaffed frontline staff and not a huge recruiting drive by Lloyds?
What makes THIS sorry news all the worse is that the staff were finding out from the BBC site and news channels a good four hours BEFORE they had the official briefing!!
How crap is that??

Hell I wished the Government would lend Barclays some money so they could resolve my complaint do as Barclays are dragging THEIR feet over what they say are is a badly managed account that I held with them for 33 years!

I hope those aforementioned spineless MPs are watching over their shoulders in the morning and that each and every one of them is happy to go back to the constituancy they represent and explain to soon to be redundant people WHY they are losing their jobs?

I hope they can look people in the eye and explain why THEY should be reselected and reinstalled in what was the Mother of Governments?

I hope they can justify to these people why they should vote to put them fat arses back on nice soft leather cushions in that building.

But then we hear that Gordon and his half arsed Cabinet have decided to review the constitution in order to change how an MP is elected. Well surprise surprise the changes work in THEIR favour and no one elses. But what can you expect from a party that is in danger of being all but annhilated at the next election?

As a real mother - not the mother of Parliament - with two children I can tell you that if mine behaved the way these treacherous MPs behave I'd disown them and turn them in the police for fraud, tax evasion and deception but it seems that the police force - which are there to enforce our laws not make them and don't seem to think that anyone in Parliament has "willfully" commited a crime - isn't going to be taking action agains said MPs.

I wonder if they'd do anything if any member of the public asked them to look into a fraud case. I could speak to the nice man at the Telegraph and ask for details? And perhaps look at taking out a private prosecution case? Afterall it's my money they've been spending and stealing.

I am also considering asking Mr Brown to take some of MY money they gave to the banks and use it to protect the jobs at risk. And don't anyone tell me I don't understand the economics involved here. I understand very well that if I have no money I cannot spend it. I understand that if I lend someone something I expect it back. So...seeing as I have lent THEM some of my money - that would be because NO Government has any money it's ALL ours - I'd like it back please so we can protect the jobs.

I don't want to hear people say we have to look after our shareholders because WE are your shareholders. Those staff that sit at a phone day in day out and get paid next to nothing at the shareholders. They are the human resources that help keep these companies running because without them these companies wouldn't exist.

Sometimes, this whole sorry mess makes me want to scream with sheer frustration.
Sometimes it makes me want to shake people by the neck to wake them up to see what is happening and yes...before my Labour/Socialist friends start moaning about the dirty Tories, I am well aware that they are as bad.
But the Labour/Socialist parties grew up on the back of looking after the working class and improving pay and conditions for them so I say to you...where are the parties now that look after the working class?
Where are the people who should be looking after the little man in the street?
Well they're in the same building as the Tories. All digging at the same trough. And so I say to you...they may all be pigs but I like my pig to be posh and wear a napkin.

I don't and haven't ever hidden my political views on here. I am passionate about politics and so stand up for and defend my beliefs. I am struggling to find anyone who admits to having voted Labour recently and I find it really quite amusing that it's Ubar Cool to vote Tory!

Today, as much as it saddens me I can say in all honestly I do understand why the BNP has picked up two seats in Europe. Those in power best hope that they don't pick up seats in Parliament next June.

The British public are in either utter despair or just don't care about politics anymore. Well politics affects everything we do every day we wake up and more of us should take an interest in what is going on around us.

This Government is actually hoping to capitalise on our collective apathy so I would say stand up and be counted. Have your say. Make yourself heard. Change things if you don't like them.

I only hope that no matter who gets in, it's not the shower we have at the moment as not only will they complete the destruction of this once proud nation of mine, they will sell it to the highest bidder and bankrupt us all, thus leaving the biggest pile of pooh for the incoming party and then spend 4 years at least moaning that the said party can't sort it out.

It was mentioned this weekend by a friend of mine that Tory sleaze is usually sex and Labour is money. Well I'd just love this Government to kiss me before fucking me over. And at least with sex I know what I'm getting.
